We’re about to get underway here and there’s already been a few tussles before throw-in. Padraic Maher and Cathal Naughton have got acquainted early on.

Cork 0-2 Tipperary 0-1: Early scores for both teams. Noel McGrath raises a white flag for Tipperary, Patrick Horgan responds from a free for Cork. Then Darren Sweetnam drives over the bar from close-range to edge the Rebels ahead. 3 minutes are gone here.

Cork 0-3 Tipperary 0-1 : Cork’s newcomers have started brightly. Conor Lehane, on his starting senior championship debut, flights over a brilliant point from his left-hand side. Cork take an early advantage with six minutes gone.

Cork 0-4 Tipperary 0-2: Pa Bourke bangs over a close-range free after Brendan Maher is fouled. But Cork respond quickly with Cathal Naughton doing well to engineer the space to point. It’s been a frenetic opening to this match and there’s only eight minutes of action gone.

Cork 0-6 Tipperary 0-4: The level of marksmanship has been outstanding on both sides so far. Gearoid Ryan pulls a score back for Tipperary before Patrick Cronin responds with a Cork point. Then Noel McGrath fires over his second point of the game but that is quickly cancelled out by a converted free by Patrick Horgan. 11 minutes gone and 10 points registered already.

Cork 0-9 Tipperary 0-5: Cork continuing to make the early running in front of their home support. Patrick Horgan arrows over a free after being fouled himself and then Jamie Coughlan grabs his first point of the match. Pa Bourke pulls a score back for Tipperary but then Horgan is on target with another free to stretch Cork’s lead to four points. An excellent contest so far.

Cork 0-10 Tipperary 0-8: Tipperary enjoy a productive period with Pa Bourke and Brian O’Meara both finding their range with shots on goal. But Cork then move downfield with Paudie O’Sullivan breaking through the cover and when he releases to Jamie Coughlan, the Newtownshandrum player lashes a shot just over the bar. That was a definite goal chance for Jimmy Barry-Murphy’s side. Tipperary pull one back with a Pa Bourke free. There’s 19 minutes gone and we’ve 18 points scored. Incredible accuracy so far.

Cork 0-12 Tipperary 0-9: Paudie O’Sullivan ensures all six Cork forwards inked their names on the scoresheet when getting clear to tap a shot over the bar. Patrick Horgan gets in on the scoring act after that with his fifth point of the game, the latest effort arriving from open play. Pa Bourke trims the gap to three after that with a pointed free. 21 minutes gone here in Páire Uí Chaoimh and this is an excellent game so far.

Cork 0-12 Tipperary 0-11: Pa Bourke is really starting to impose himself on this match. Tipperary need attacking leadership and he’s providing it. He’s just struck over two 65′s in quick succession to bring his personal tally to 0-7 for the day. More importantly for the Premier, they’ve reduced the margin to just a point after 27 minutes.

Cork 0-13 Tipperary 0-12: Patrick Horgan points a free to push Cork into a two-point lead but then we have a moment of controversy. Anthony Nash, Cork’s new goalkeeper, fires in a long-range free that Brendan Cummins comes to collect but the balls spills from his hand and rolls into the net. As the Rebels players and fans start to celebrate, referee Brian Gavin blows for a free out as he has adjudged there was a Cork player in the square. That’s a big call. It’s a let off for Tipperary and they capitalize at the other end with Brendan Maher pointing.

A huge roar has erupted amongst the Tipperary supporters. That’s because after 33 minutes of action, the first substitute of the day has arrived and it’s Lar Corbett who is brought into the action. Gearoid Ryan is the player to make way.

Cork 0-14 Tipperary 0-12: Captain Patrick Horgan has stepped up to the plate for Cork again with his seventh point of the game. Meanwhile Corbett has taken up a role in the half-forward line where is being marked by Tom Kenny. This is his first appearance for Tipperary since last September’s All-Ireland final.

Half-time: Cork 0-14 Tipperary 0-12 – It’s Cork in the ascendancy on the scoreboard at half-time as they lead by two points. The half concludes with Tipperary being awarded a 20-yard free but Pa Bourke opts to attempt a low drive for goal rather than tapping a shot over the bar. The Cork defence are equal to the task and clear their lines before Brian Gavin blows the whistle for the interval.

The attendance has just been announced here and 32,568 patrons are present. That will be a big boost to the Munster Council after the poor crowd that turned out for last Sunday’s Munster semi-final clash in Semple Stadium between Clare and Waterford.

Those present here have witnessed a stunning rate of scoring in the first-half. We’ve had 26 points in the opening half and to put that into context, when these sides clashed at this venue in the Munster championship two years ago, there were 29 white flags raised over the entire 70 minutes. Here’s the scorers for both sides in the first-half.

CORK: P Horgan 0-7 (0-5f), J Coughlan 0-2, D Sweetnam, C Lehane, P Cronin, C Naughton, P O’Sullivan 0-1 each.

TIPPERARY: P Bourke 0-7 (0-3f, 0-2 ’65), N McGrath 0-2, B Maher, G Ryan, B O’Meara 0-1 each.

Both teams are back out on the field in Páirc Uí Chaoimh as the second-half is about to start in this semi-final tie. No half-time changes on either side.

Cork 0-15 Tipperary 0-13: First blood to Tipperary in the second-half when Brian O’Meara charges in from the right wing, shrugs off defensive challenges and fires a shot between the posts. But Patrick Horgan restores Cork’s two-point advantage when he scores a free. 39 minutes gone here.

Cork 0-16 Tipperary 0-14: There are no indications that the tight nature of this game is going to abate. Paudie O’Sullivan lobs over a beautiful score under pressure but Pa Bourke, who continues to impress, ensures Tipperary fight back with a point of their own. 42 minutes gone.

Cork 0-16 Tipperary 0-15: Bourke is again on target from a placed ball but Cork will be happy just to have conceded a point there. Referee Brian Gavin opted not to play the advantage rule which ensured John O’Brien’s shot to the net after Patrick Maher played him in, despite being fouled, did not count. Cork full-back Brian Murphy receives a yellow card for that misdemeanor.

Tipperary 1-16 Cork 0-16: A dramatic few moments. We’ve had 31 points but critically in the 46th minute, the first goal of the game has arrived. John O’Brien and Lar Corbett make the hard yards to prise open the Cork rearguard and it’s Noel McGrath who is played in to finish decisively to the net past Anthony Nash. Padraic Maher follow up with a point for Tipperary but then the Premier side receive a major blow when John O’Brien is sent-off after being shown a second yellow card.

Tipperary 1-16 Cork 0-17: Patrick Horgan grabs an important free for Cork. They needed that to steady the ship after going behind. They’ve also made a couple of personnel changes. Cian McCarthy has come in for Cathal Naughton while Daniel Kearney has been brought in for his championship debut at midfield for Darren Sweetnam.

Tipperary 1-17 Cork 0-19: These two just continue to trade points. Tipperary’s Brendan Maher and Cork’s Cian McCarthy cancel each other out with points before Paudie O’Sullivan strikes his third point of the match. Just one point between them with 54 minutes elapsed. Will Cork’s extra man prove crucial in the finale?

Tipperary 1-17 Cork 0-20: It’s all square here in Páirc Uí Chaoimh with the ball breaking kindly for Conor Lehane who makes no mistake to register a point for Cork. Shane Bourke has been introduced to the Tipperary attack with Brian O’Meara making way.

Tipperary 1-18 Cork 0-20: An instant impact is made by Shane Bourke as hie is fouled 40 yards from goal and Pa Bourke hits the resultant free over the bar. James Woodlock is on to the Tipperary team at midfield for Brendan Maher. 56 minutes gone.

Tipperary 1-20 Cork 0-21: Pa Bourke has had an outstanding afternoon and the Thurles Sarsfields man continues to shine. He’s just hit his eleventh point of the game, this time from play as he profits from a wayward clearance by Cork defender Eoin Cadogan. Cork manage to respond quickly through Jamie Coughlan as he points from the left wing. But then Noel McGrath points at the other end and Tipperary are ahead by two with 11 minutes left on the clock.

Tipperary 1-21 Cork 0-21: They may be down to fourteen man but Tipperary are working extremely hard all over the pitch to make up for the setback of seeing John O’Brien dismissed. Noel McGrath and Pa Bourke, from a free, raise white flags to stretch their lead to four points. Cork have brought on Luke O’Farrell for his Midleton club mate Conor Lehane. The sense is that the Rebels need a goal here with seven minutes remaining.

Tipperary 1-22 Cork 0-22: Cork try to fight back and Daniel Kearney helps them along the way by hitting his first point of the match. Just five minutes remaining here.

Tipperary 1-22 Cork 0-23: The margin is down to two points and there’s only three minutes left. Patrick Horgan hits another free for Cork while Tipperary bring on Eoin Kelly for Pa Bourke. It’s going to be a highly exciting finale.

Tipperary 1-22 Cork 0-23: Tipperary substitution in their defence as Donagh Maher comes in for Thomas Stapleton. Two minutes of injury-time will be played.

Tipperary 1-22 Cork 0-24: The gap is down to one after Patrick Horgan strikes another free between the posts after Shane O’Neill is fouled.

Full-Time – Tipperary 1-22 Cork 0-24: It’s all over and Tipperary have prevailed by a point after a pulsating encounter. Cork fought desperately to secure a late leveling score but Tipperary held on to set up a final meeting with Waterford on July 15th.

Here’s the scorers from both sides after what was an utterly enthralling match.

TIPPERARY: P Bourke 0-12 (0-7f, 0-2 ’65), N McGrath 1-4, B Maher, B O’Meara 0-2 each, G Ryan, Padraic Maher 0-1 each.

CORK: P Horgan 0-12 (0-9f), J Coughlan, P O’Sullivan 0-3 each, C Lehane 0-2, D Sweetnam, P Cronin, C Naughton, D Kearney, C McCarthy 0-1 each.

That’s all from Páirc Uí Chaoimh, thanks for joining us for this afternoon’s Munster senior hurling semi-final that saw Tipperary prevail by 1-22 to 0-24 against Cork.
