Arsenal 1-0 Everton

Bolton 1-2 Aston Villa

Liverpool 1-0 QPR

Man United 4-1 Wolves

Norwich 4-2 Newcastle

Swansea 1-0 Fulham

West Brom 1-2 Wigan

Afternoon all and a happy Christmas too. It’s a rare Saturday in the Premier League in that they’re are seven – count ‘em – 3pm fixtures. This never happens!

Very subdued atmosphere at Old Trafford which is perhaps understandable given the week that’s been in it.

Wolves very proactive at Old Trafford but that is creating space for United.

Thirteen minutes gone and still 0-0 in every Premier League game. To a degree, feels like we’re waiting for the Lord Mayor’s Show with the Clasico later on tonight, which we’ll be covering LIVE here!

Oh should have been 1-0 United! Carrick slips Rooney in for a one-on-one but, rather than lift it, he shoots straight at Hennessy who does well to divert it wide.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Wolves

Nani cuts inside and fires a fine, low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Great run and strike from the Portuguese.

One-way traffic at Anfield where Suarez is having a stormer. Still no goals for Liverpool though.

Demba Ba and Russell Martin square up to each other in the match between Norwich and Newcastle, which is just about the only action elsewhere.

Oh, we lie. Luke Moore hits the top of the bar for Swansea against Fulham.

GOAL! Manchester United 2-0 Wolves

A similar goal to Nani – who sets it up – as Rooney cuts in and strikes low, his first goal in the Premier League since mid-September!

Henderson smashes one wide. Still no breakthrough for Liverpool

Maxi in for Liverpool… but it’s saved!

Amazing that Arsenal haven’t scored yet either, they’re well on top against Everton. Surely only a matter of time until Van Persie breaches that high line.

United, Arsenal and Liverpool in complete control of their games… but only United have scored.

GOAL! Bolton 0-1 Aston Villa

Agbonlahor sets up Albrighton who side-foots it into the corner to break the deadlock outside Old Trafford.

GOAL! West Brom 1-0 Wigan

In the week that he tells Trapattoni to take him under consideration again, Steven Reid pops up for West Brom, curling a brilliant free-kick over the wall from 25 yards.

GOAL! West Brom 1-1 Wigan

Goals everywhere now. Victor Moses parts the West Brom defence to equalise,.

GOAL! Norwich 1-0 Newcastle

A good day for the Irish continues as Wes Hoolahan gets the last touch after Surman’s corner causes a scramble in the six-yard box. Mightn’t have been a corner either.

Liverpool might have had a penalty there as Johnson goes down in the box. The referee not giving the Anfield side much today despite Kenny Dalglish’s DVD during the week.

GOAL! Bolton 0-2 Aston Villa

This is getting bad for Bolton. Stilian Petrov makes it 2-0 with the help of a deflectrion from Gary Cahill.

Suarez denied by keeper, then shoots over.

GOAL! Norwich 1-1 Newcastle United

Demba Ba equalises for Newcastle, slotting home after Cabaye dinks him in.

Half-times everywhere now. The action really picked up towards the end of the halves with goals all over the place.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been dominant but with no reward as yet.

And we’re back under way.

GOAL! Manchester United 2-1 Norwich

Steven Fletcher continues his fine form by shocking United with a brilliant header from Ward’s cross. Game on.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 QPR

Suarez breaks the deadlock for Liverpool after a fine cross from Adam.

Wolves pressing strongly now. After a dull first half, this is very much in the balance at Old Trafford.

Newcastle should be 2-1 up at Norwich as Ba misses an opportunity and Ameobi skims the bar.

GOAL! Manchester United 3-1 Wolves

And Nani settles that anyway. Wolves’s revival is quashed as the winger slots in Valencia’s cross. Nani has been involved in every United goal today. Fantasy Football bonus points on the way surely.

GOAL! Bolton 1-2 Aston Villa

Klasnic reacts quickest in a crowded box after Zat Knight’s effort from a corner.

GOAL! Swansea 1-0 Fulham

The hero on Monday night is hapless today as Clint Dempsey diverts Sinclar’s shot into his own net.

GOAL! West Brom 1-2 Wigan

Gomez slots home a penalty after Moses is brought down in the box. Looking good for Wigan.

GOAL! Manchester United 4-1 Wolves

Rooney’s troubles now look a thing of the past as he shows great technique to volley home Valencia’s cross. Superb goal.

GOAL! Norwich 2-1 Newcastle

Grant Holt plunders another goal after his first header is saved by Tim Krul at point-blank range.

GOAL! Norwich 3-1 Newcastle

A second goal in quick succession for Norwich as Newcastle really suffer without their first-choice defence. Crofts crosses for Morison to keep up his own fine scoring form.

United bring on young Fryers for Evra.

Liverpool still laying siege to QPR. Fair to say it should be a lot more than 1-0.

Everton take off Saha for Distin at the Emirates. They’re going to fight for this 0-0. Although it has often happened that such a backward step actually invites pressure.

GOAL! Norwich 3-2 Newcastle United

And Demba Ba hits another to breathe life back into the game at Carrow Road.

For the many people who have Van Persie as their captain, he looks very mortal in this game. His worst appearance in a long while for Arsenal.

In between all the goals, by the way, Dan Gosling was sent off for Newcastle for a second booking.

At Anfield, Liverpool haven’t really made their possession count and now QPR coming into it. Might be a nervy finish.

GOAL! Norwich 4-2 Newcastle United

Holt restores Norwich’s two-goal lead with another powerful header.

Bellamy narrowly wide with a free-kick in what is a rare reprieve for Liverpool over the last 10 minutes.

PENALTY SAVED!

Vorm keeps out Clint Dempsey’s penalty! Frei had been brought down by Richards but the keeper makes another fine penalty save. It’s a trend.

GOAL! Swansea 2-0 Fulham

And Danny Graham wraps things up after atrocious defending from Fulham.

Full-time at Old Trafford, where United get back to winning ways.

Liverpool hanging on here as a QPR corner bounces off the frame of the goal.

Luis Suarez, by the by, has now outscored John Terry this season. 5-4.

Full-time Villa Park. Bad for Bolton.

And that’s it from us for the moment. We’ll back shortly with a review of the day, parting shots and – of course – the big one tonight, El Clasico.
