Two Irish amateurs have the chance to beat Luke Littler and win £501,000

Dublin and Cavan players are taking part in Netflix event with young darts sensation.

IRISH AMATEUR DARTS players Katie Sheldon and ‘Fierce’ Pearse Mackle are among 24 contestants looking to beat Luke Littler and win £501,000 (€598,000).

They are taking part in a Netflix live special in Manchester on Friday 30 October where they will look to get the better of the sport’s biggest name.

Katie Sheldon, known as The Dublin Diamond, works as a wire assembler. The 22-year-old has been playing darts four days a week alongside competing in tournaments.

County Cavan’s Pearse Mackle is a 21-year-old University of Galway Commerce student, who previously played youth darts for Ireland.

Contestants get one chance in one 501 leg. The competition ends when, or if, somebody defeats Littler.

“I think it’ll be an amazing night and I’m just really looking forward to getting started.

“There’s half a million quid up for grabs, I won’t be going easy at all. I’ll be wanting to beat everyone who comes up. Maybe the first few legs could be a bit nervy, but once I get going then I don’t think anyone will stop me.”
