This 16-year-old female kicker made a perfect hit to end a powerful punt return

Kelly MacNamara is her school’s first female kicker and she’s making her presence well and truly felt.

ORDINARILY, IF A kicker in American football is needed to do something defensive, it’s time to panic.

The position is a sheltered one, and the only planned physical contact comes in the form of a celebratory chest-bump after a successful field goal.

North Penn High School, 25 miles north of Philadelphia, have a different kind of kicker. Kelly MacNamara clearly isn’t shy about making her presence felt when boys on the opposition team are racing down the touchline.

MacNamara, the first female kicker in the high school’s history, is currently the fourth-ranked kicker in Pennsylvania state. It’s the 16-year-old’s first season playing football and it’s clearly going quite well as this video was simply captioned: ’7 -0′.

That’ll teach him to return one of her punts.

According to the Knight Crier, MacNamara had never played football until this season, but felt confident in her ability as a kicker after years of soccer.

From the looks of it, she may have a future on defence too.
