MONAGHAN’S MARK CONNOLLY helped Dundee United keep a clean sheet on Tuesday night, as the Terrors secured a 1-0 win away from home in their Scottish Premiership semi-final play-off against Inverness.
The 27-year-old centre back, who began his career with League of Ireland side Monaghan United before joining Wolves and later enjoying spells at Bolton, Crawley and Kilmarnock, was at the heart of Dundee United’s defence during the first leg.
Connolly, a former Ireland U21 international, joined Dundee United from Crawley Town in January, having previously experienced Scottish football as club captain at Kilmarnock for the 2015/16 campaign.

Paul McMullan broke the deadlock with just 12 minutes left on the clock at Caledonian Stadium, with hosts Inverness forced to play the majority of the second half a man down after winger Liam Polworth was shown a straight red card.
Cork-born forward Aaron Doran played the full 90 minutes for Inverness during his side’s defeat, with Derry’s Darren McCauley amongst the substitutes.
The sides meet again at Tannadice Park on Friday evening for the second leg.
