MATT FITZPATRICK HAS had his proposed 48-week ban overturned.

The Antrim forward was hit with the lengthy suspension for allegedly “deliberately giving false evidence”  ahead of his county’s championship in Ballybofey this weekend.

But Fitzpatrick now looks set to line out against Donegal.

RTÉ pundit Joe Brolly was involved in the appeals process last night.

Fitzpatrick was initially given a one-week ban for an alleged striking incident during Antrim’s Division 3 league defeat to Armagh on 25 March.
