FORMER LIMERICK FOOTBALL boss Maurice Horan will be involved with the Kerry club side of David Moran and Tommy Walsh for the 2015 season.

Horan confirmed to TheScore.ie today that he has joined the management team of Kerins O’Rahilly’s with Barry O’Shea, full-back on the 1997 Kerry All-Ireland winning side, set to be the boss of the Tralee based club.

Mayo native Horan brings great experience to his position having been at the helm of the Limerick senior footballers for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons. In 2011 he guided Limerick to a historic first All-Ireland senior football quarter-final appearance where they lost to Kerry in Croke Park.

The news is a further boost to Kerins O’Rahilly’s after the confirmation in early October that Tommy Walsh was ending his AFL career with Sydney Swans to return home.

Walsh is expected to link up with Eamonn Fitzmaurice’s Kingdom setup for 2015 where he will join club mates David Moran and Barry John Keane. Moran enjoyed a brilliant Allstar winning campaign in 2014 while Keane came on in the final win over Donegal.

Kerns O’Rahilly’s last won a Kerry senior football title in 2002 but they lost the 2008 final after a replay to Mid Kerry when Jack O’Connor was at the helm of the Strand Road outfit.

This season their Tralee rivals Austin Stacks claimed county senior football glory and they contest the AIB Munster senior club football final on 30 November.

Kerns O’Rahilly’s suffered a disappointing 2014 campaign as they lost their opening round games to South Kerry and Feale Rangers, before winning a relegation playoff against Kilcummin.
