And the nominees for the Meath senior manager are...

There have been further developments in the Royal county as they seek a replacement for Seamus McEnaney.

TEN CANDIDATES HAVE been announced as nominations for the vacant Meath senior football management position, including Graham Geraghty and John Evans who were both part of the back room setup under Seamus McEnaney this season.

It is understood that Geraghty, a former All-Ireland senior medal winner with the county, and Evans, the former Tipperary senior football boss, could work together as part of the same coaching team.

The other contenders include Paddy Carr, the former Louth senior manager and 2009 All-Ireland club winning supremo with Kilmacud Crokes, who is considered the favorite for the job. Sean Kelly, currently the manager of Meath club outfit Donaghmore-Ashbourne, has been nominated but is not believed to be interested due to work commitments.

Former Meath attacking great Colm O’Rourke, who has been successful in the Hogan Cup with St Pat’s (Navan) teams, and Eamonn O’Brien, who guided Meath to the 2010 Leinster title, are also on the list yet are not believed likely to be appointed.

The remaining four candidates are Andy McEntee, the current Meath minor manager who is preparing for a forthcoming All-Ireland final battle with Dublin, Mick O’Dowd, who coached Skryne to win the 2004 Meath senior title, Pat Coyle, the Leinster minor winning manager with Meath in 2008, and Damien Sheridan, father of senior attacker Joe and coach to the Seneschalstown teams that won Meath county crowns in 2007 and 2009.
