HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…

Free agent Robbie Keane could be set to join Sunderland in a short-term deal, with several media reports linking the ex-Ireland international with a move to the Black Cats.

Chelsea’s players reportedly want the club to sign Joe Hart if Thibaut Courtois joins Real Madrid in the summer.

PSG are understood to have joined the race for 20-year-old Benfica winger Gonçalo Guedes, a rumoured Man United target, who has been dubbed the ‘new Ronaldo,’ while Chelsea are similarly hoping to hijack the Red Devils’ attempts to sign highly-rated Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.

AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang is in talks with the club over the prospect of a January exit, head coach Vincenzo Montella has confirmed. A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, including Arsenal, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Everton, for whom he had a trial back in 2012.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez has been made a firm offer by a Premier League club, according to Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez. The 23-year-old is expected to leave Parc des Princes before the end of the transfer window, having struggled to settle since his move from Real Madrid. Las Palmas have been interested in a deal for the player, who was born in the Canary Islands, but made it clear last month that they feared being priced out of a move.

With defender Jan Vertonghen out for a considerable period, Tottenham are pondering a move for Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia.

Aston Villa are close to a double deal for Irish midfielder Conor Hourihane and Barnsley teammate James Bree for a combined fee of £6 million (€7 million).

Wayne Rooney will turn down any offers from Chinese clubs, according to reports.

Retro Deal of the Day: George Weah to Man City

ONE OF THOSE transfers that people forget about because Weah’s spell at City was so brief and uneventful.

The Liberia legend was at one point considered among the world’s best players, winning the Ballon d’Or in 1995.

After a prolific early spell in the Liberian domestic league, Weah went on to star for Monaco, PSG and Milan.

By 2000, however, the striker was past his best. In a loan spell at Chelsea, he scored three goals in 11 league appearances.

Yet it was Man City who subsequently signed Weah up on a free transfer. He promptly fell out with manager Joe Royle, and left the club after registering just one goal in seven league appearances.

Weah then had brief stints at Marseille and Al-Jazira, before retiring in 2003 at the age of 37.

Since leaving the game, the footballing legend has been involved in politics in his native Liberia, unsuccessfully running for the presidency in 2005.
