Ireland prop ruled out for the rest of the Rugby World Cup
IRELAND PROP RUTH O’Reilly has been ruled out of the remainder of the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
The Galwegians captain, who came off the bench against both Japan and France, has suffered a back injury, the IRFU confirmed.
Ulster’s Ilse Van Staden has been called up in her place, and linked up with Tom Tierney’s squad at their base in Belfast.
Defeat to France consigned Ireland to the fifth-to-eighth place playoffs, where they will meet Australia once again on Tuesday in Ravenhill (2pm).
Tierney names his side on Monday afternoon.
