Semple Stadium set for triple-header of qualifier showdowns

There’s 12 matches down for decision in a bumper weekend of inter-county action next Saturday and Sunday.

GAA CHIEFS HAVE opted to schedule a triple-header of inter-county action for Semple Stadium next Saturday which will ensure that the phase three hurling ties that see Cork facing Wexford and Limerick meeting Clare both take place at the Thurles venue.

This morning’s draw on TV3′s Ireland AM programme saw Cork drawn to meet Wexford in a game that will take place at 5pm next Saturday and will be followed by the meeting of Limerick and Clare at 7pm, a tie that will broadcast live on RTE. The action will kick off in Semple Stadium at 3pm with the All-Ireland football qualifier tie between Tipperary and Wexford which has been moved from the previously arranged time of 5pm.

The decision has also been taken to schedule Limerick’s All-Ireland football qualifier tie against Longford in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park at 2pm. The change in time will facilitate Limerick supporters wishing to attend both games. It also is beneficial for Limerick midfielder Paul Kinnerk who is also involved as a trainer with the Clare senior hurlers, and is now in a position to attend both clashes.
