After the hurling action has concluded, we’re getting set for this year’s All-Ireland club football decider. Dublin’s Ballymun Kickhams, appearing in their first ever final, go up against Roscommo side St Brigid’s, who lost out in the final two years ago against Crossmaglen Rangers. Ted Furman, who has made a bright impression early on, tears through the St Brigid’s rearguard and unleashes a shot which is brilliantly saved by Shane Curran before the rebound comes back to Furman and he offloads to Philly McMahon who crashes the ball to the net. Then Furman follows that up by making a run forward which leads to him being fouled and Rock converting the resultant free.

Ballymun Kickhams 2-3 St Brigid’s 0-1: 10 mins – And Ballymun Kickhams bright start continues with James Burke floating over a splendid point from the left wing. St Brigid’s are already in trouble as they stare at an eight-point deficit.

A great team move sees Senan Kilbride field a high ball that is pumped in and he does brilliantly to finish the ball to the net under pressure. St Brigid’s 2-9 Ballymun Kickhams 2-9: 45 mins – St Brigid’s briefly forge ahead courtesy of a point by Darragh Donnelly but Dean Rock then ties the game again with a score from a free.

FT: St Brigid’s 2-11 Ballymun Kickhams 2-10: That’s it, St Brigid’s have been crowned All-Ireland champions!

An amazing conclusion in Croke Park as St Brigid’s claimed a last-gasp point in injury-time with Frankie Dolan winning possession and hooking over a shot with his left foot. Prior to that, St Brigid’s had missed two chances to notch a point but their shots fell shot into the hands of Ballymun goalkeeper Sean Currie.

The triumph is St Brigid’s first ever All-Ireland club title after they lost out in 2007 and 2012 at the semi-final stage while in 2011 they were defeated in the final by Crossmaglen Rangers. It’s also Roscommon’s first ever All-Ireland senior club title.

St Brigid’s joint captains Gearoid Cunniffe and Darragh Donnelly have just lifted the Andy Merrigan Cup in the Hogan Stand.

The second All-Ireland triumph for a Connacht club today in Croke Park and a day to savor for Galway hurling manager Anthony Cunningham. His native club St Thomas won the hurling decider while St Brigid’s, the local club close to his residence and whom he trained to three Roscommon titles and one Connacht crown between 2005 and 2007, have won the football final.
