FORMER MANCHESTER UNITED striker Carlos Tevez was headbutted as five players saw red in Boca Juniors’ 1-0 ‘friendly’ defeat against rivals River Plate.
Tevez was one of nine players who received yellow cards in the fiery clash in Buenos Aires, which is an annual pre-season fixture before the Argentinian league begins in February.
The three-time Premier League champion was headbutted by River’s Jonathan Maidana for which the defender was given a straight red. And that was followed by a massive on-field melee between the players.
Jonathan Silva was sent off 10 minutes into his Boca debut on Saturday night. And his team-mates Daniel Diaz and Gino Peruzzi were also given their marching orders.
River Plate’s Leonardo Pisculichi was the fifth and final man to be sent off.
