The Morning Score: Tuesday

Mosley loses court battle, FAI in no rush to decide on Trap, and Poite appointed to referee Heineken Cup final.

1. #MOSLEY Europe’s Human Rights court in Strasbourg has ruled against Max Mosley’s action to force newspapers to inform people if they are going to expose details of their private lives.

A win for Mosley could have seen new privacy laws being introduced in the UK. Read more on the decision here.

2. #TRAP FAI Chief Executive John Delaney yesterday told reporters that the association is in no rush to offer Giovanni Trapattoni a new contract, preferring to wait until the end of the Euro 2012 qualification campaign before making any decision on the Italian’s future.

3. #HEINEKEN CUP French referee Roman Poite has been appointed to take charge of this year’s Heineken Cup final between Leinster and the Northampton Saints.

Poite, who refereed Ireland’s Six Nations opener against Italy in February, came in for severe criticism after awarding an unusually high amount of penalties against Declan Kidney’s men for infringements at the breakdown.

4. #HARRINGTON Phil Mickelson has spoken out in defence of Padraig Harrington after it was suggested that the Dubliner had teed-off from in front of the tee-box during the final round of last weekend’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.

“Padraig has more integrity than anybody out here,” said Mickelson. “He’s constantly checking to make sure he’s playing by all the rules.”

5. #DALGLISH Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has called on the club’s owners to offer Kenny Dalglish a new contract, saying that it is what fans and players want.

The injured midfielder made the comments following his side’s 5-2 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage last night.

6. #CLASS CLOWN We’re really starting to like Chelsea defender David Luiz. Not only is he a classy centre-half, but he seems to know how to have a bit of a laugh.

Here’s his latest cameo on Chelsea TV.
