The Morning Score: Tuesday

Mourinho denies humiliation despite five-goal rout and Brian O’Driscoll prepares for lay-off.

1. #INJURY Yesterday he tweeted that he ‘felt a bit sore’ with a suspected broken jaw after the bruising encounter with old rivals Argentina.

Today it seems that Brian O’Driscoll is likely to be confirmed as an absentee for Leinster’s crucial Heineken Cup double-header against Clermont next month, according to the Irish Independent.

Leinster confirmed that there will be an update delivered today following this medical assessment, with an absence of five or six weeks the most likely outcome.

2. #EL CLASICO What a performance! Anyone who was lucky enough to witness Barcelona’s demolition of Real Madrid last night realises that this is one of the best teams ever assembled. Check out Barca’s first goal from the brilliant Xavi:

3. #TENNIS Roger Federer, who lost his No 1 ranking to Rafael Nadal earlier this year, has described his defeat of the Spaniard in the year-end ATP World Tour Finals as “extra special.”

4. #BRIBES Three senior Fifa officials who will vote on the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids took bribes in the 1990s, according to a BBC Panorama programme which aired last night.

The programme alleged that Nicolas Leoz, Issa Hayatou and Ricardo Teixeira took the money from a sport marketing firm awarded lucrative World Cup rights.

British Prime Minister David Cameron plans to limit the damage of the show today.

5. #CARLING CUP Arsene Wenger will take tonight’s League Cup tie with Wigan seriously as he aims to end a trophy drought.

6. #TICKETS After the IRFU yesterday annouced a climbdown on ticket prices and bundling, the GAA may be about to follow suit.

Association chief Christy Cooney admitted in Kuala Lumpar that cuts may well be on the cards as reality bites at home, according to the Examiner.

7. #FROZEN OUT The weather has stalled any racing in the country and it looks increasingly likely it will not resume in Ireland until Friday night on the all-weather at Dundalk, according to Pat Keane.

Prospects for Fairyhouse’s big meeting on Thursday are “poor”, according to acting course manager Peter Roe

8. #CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS The provincial finals in Leinster and Ulster have been re-scheduled to next Sunday, December 5 – after they were the victims of last weekend’s cold snap.

The Crossmaglen and Naomh Conaill tie will be played on Sunday at Clones (2pm) while the Leinster SHC final between Oulart the Ballagh and O’Loughlin will be hoted aat Dr Cullen Park in Carlow at the same time.

9. #EL CLASICO That game is worth talking about again isn’t it. Afterwards Jose Mourinho denied that the rout at the Camp Nou was a ‘humiliation’. It’s hard to believe him.  He had previously never lost by more than three goals.

Late on his team completely lost their discipline. Understandably, I suppose.
