WATERFORD GAA HAVE tonight announced the return of Ephie Fitzgerald as senior football boss for next season, while James O’Connor and Darragh O’Sullivan are to take on the key underage hurling manager positions in the county.
Fitzgerald is set for a two-year term with the option of an additional year, while his backroom team is yet to be finalised.

The Nemo Rangers club man previously managed Waterford in 2022 and 2023, while before that he was in charge of the Cork senior ladies football side.
James O’Connor, who guided Waterford to All-Ireland minor glory this year, is to take over as the new U20 hurling boss, succeeding Ken McGrath.
O’Connor will be joined by coach Tommy Ryan, with former county attacking star Paul Flynn a selector alongside Seamus Hannon and Nicholas Mackey.
The minor manager vacancy created by O’Connor’s departure will be filled by Ballygunner’s All-Ireland club winning boss Darrragh O’Sullivan. He will be joined by David Franks, who he combined with for huge success with Ballygunner, and Darragh Duggan.
Brendan Kearney is to become the new Waterford minor football manager.
All appointments are subject to ratification at the next meeting of the Waterford county board.
