ARSENAL MANAGER ARSENE Wenger admits he has no issue with his players taking selfies but insists celebrations need to be at the “right level”.
Earlier this week, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher criticised the Arsenal players for posting celebration photos on social media following their 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Francesco Totti recently celebrated his goal in the Rome derby by taking a selfie after he had scored but, while Wenger thinks the Italian’s gesture was excessive, the Arsenal manager believes his players should be able to celebrate after a win.
“There are limits because the other day, I saw Totti scorind a goal during a game doing the same thing. Honestly, that’s too far,” Wenger said.
“They did it, they had a right to be happy. You want this game to remain human. But don’t worry, they know they haven’t won the league.
“We have to keep things at the right level. We have to live with the fact that today football is very popular, everything is analysed, sometimes it goes overboard but we have to stay at the right level and take a distance and put things into the right perspective.”
