TEAM IRELAND HAVE suffered last-32 disappointment at the BWF World Championships in Paris, with Nhat Nguyen and mixed doubles pair Joshua Magee and Moya Ryan bowing out.
Nguyen lost out to number eight seed, Kodai Naraoka of Japan.
The two-time Olympian was beaten 21-18, 21-14.

Nguyen previously overcame Canada’s Brian Yang 21-9, 21-18 in his opener on Monday.

Joshua Magee & Moya Ryan 🇮🇪 lost to number 16 seeds Dhruv Kapila & Tanisha Crasto 🇮🇳 21-11 21-16
Magee and Ryan were defeated by number 16 seeds Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto of India 21-11, 21-16.
They also comfortably won their opener agains USA duo Linden and Eva Wang.
It ends Ireland’s involvement in the championships on day three, with Rachael Darragh and women’s pair Moya Ryan and Orla Flynn previously exiting.
Notably, today brought Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin’s last match coaching for Ireland. The national singles coach shared an emotional moment with Nguyen afterwards.
