JOSE MOURINHO HAS allowed another young player leave Old Trafford, albeit temporarily.
Highly-rated Brazilian Andreas Pereira has joined Spanish side Granada on a season-long loan deal.
“I love Andreas Pereira as a player and I would love to have him in my squad, but he will go to Granada”, Mourinho confirmed at his Friday press conference.
The 20-year-old was handed a first-team debut by Louis van Gaal in the infamous 4-0 League Cup loss to MK Dons in August 2014. Later that season, he made his first appearance in the Premier League, coming on as a substitute for Juan Mata in a 3-0 win over Tottenham.
Last term he featured prominently, making 11 appearances across four competitions and scoring against Ipswich with a superb free-kick – his first senior goal for the club.
He was involved in United’s pre-season, scoring against Wigan.
Linked with a move to Fulham, he’ll now head to La Liga to find more first-team action.
Mourinho arrived at United with a reputation for ignoring young talent and despite an initial attempt to discredit that, he’s lived up to the reputation.
Paddy McNair and Donald Love were both sold to Sunderland, Tyler Blackett was moved on to Reading while Guillermo Varela, Adnan Januzaj, James Wilson and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have all been sent on loan.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford – the undoubted find of last season and whose form was so good that he made England’s Euro 2016 squad – hasn’t featured in either of United’s opening two games.
