Arguably one of the biggest shocks in world football has just taken place

The 13th November may well become a national holiday for the island nation of Comoros after a huge result against Ghana.

COMOROS HAVE ONLY been a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 2003.

They’re ranked 177th in the latest FIFA rankings.

Their biggest result probably came in 2011 when they held Libya to a 1-1 draw in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

In their competitive history, the island nation, which has a population estimated at 798,000, have won four games and their most-experienced player is at French third-tier side Consolat Marseille.

But earlier today, they conjured one of the biggest shocks we’ve seen in a long time.

Hosting the Avram Grant-managed Ghana, who have made it to the knockout stages of the last three World Cups, in a 2018 qualifier first-leg, Comoros secured an incredible scoreless draw.

And going by the video footage, they were also denied a clear goal with ten minutes to go and hit the woodwork shortly after. But, quite inevitably, the Ghana FA’s official Twitter account thought things played out a little differently.

The return leg takes place in Kumasi in four days time.
