DOWN START TRAINING for their 2016 Ulster Championship campaign in just over a month and the county board has moved to assure players a new manager will be in place by then.
The Mourne men have been without a manager since Jim McCorry stepped down in August following a disappointing 2015 championship.
Down lost to Derry by the narrowest of margins in the Ulster quarter-final before a shock five-point loss to Wexford in the first round of the qualifiers saw McCorry quit his role.
In a statement on Thursday night, the county board said the selection process will be complete within ten days.
However, they also stated they would not be commenting on who the new manager would be until the appointment is ratified.
