Drogheda United 1
Bohemians 4
A KEITH WARD hat-trick, a Dinny Corcoran screamer, two red cards and a Sean Brennan consolation were the talking points, as a dominant Bohemians pushed Drogheda closer to relegation at United Park.
Bohemians took a deserved lead on 10 minutes, as Keith Ward finished low past Stephen McGuinness from 25 yards.
Ward increased his tally for the night just before the break, as he was played in on the left and slotted under McGuinness to double Bohs’ lead.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men just minutes after the break, as Oscar Brennan was shown a second yellow for a pull back on Jamie Hollywood.
However, Drogheda themselves were reduced to 10 men on the hour, as Chris Mulhall was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident involving Rob Cornwall.
Bohs made it 3-0 just four minutes later as Keith Ward completed his hat-trick with the pick of his goals, a strike from the wing cannoning in off the post from range.
Ward was outdone for goal of the night less than a minute later though, as a stunning strike from Dinny Corcoran found the top corner past McGuinness from 40 yards.
Drogheda managed to find a consolation four minutes later, as Thomas Byrne played through substitute Sean Brennan to finish past Supple.
