Good afternoon! The first Division 1 semi-final between Tyrone and Kildare is into its final minutes at Croke Park. After that, it won’t be long before Dublin and Mayo are out warming out on the pitch in HQ for their semi-final.

Throw-in is at 3.45pm. Here’s how they’ll line out:

For Dublin, Bernard Brogan returns having not featured since their win over Kildare last month.

When it comes to taking points, no team has been better than Dublin in the league this season. They’ve scored 129 so far and only conceded 88, one more than the league’s meanest defence, Donegal. How will the return of Bernard Brogan play out this afternoon?

For their part, Mayo will be be looking to two-time Young Footballer of the Year Cillian O’Connor and Burrishoole clubman Jason Doherty who has been preferred to Alan Freeman in the full-forward line. Freeman is on the bench today.

Both teams are currently out on the pitch before this afternoon’s second semi-final clash, finishing off their warm-up’s.

Mayo 0-2 Dublin 0-0: 6 mins – He was in brilliant form in last September’s All-Ireland semi-final when it came to converting frees and Cillian O’Connor has started confidently here in posting the game’s opening point. Mayo follow that up with another score as Cathal Carolan sells a great dummy and then hooks over a shot with his left foot.

Mayo 0-3 Dublin 0-0: 10 mins – Mayo go three points clear courtesy of a pointed free by Cillian O’Connor. The Connacht outfit have begun brightly and got into their stride quickly.

Dublin 1-1 Mayo 0-3: 14 mins – Dublin’s challenge is kickstarted by a brilliant goal by Paul Mannion. The score was all the making of the Kilmacud Crokes man as he cut in from the right wing, shrugged off the challenge of Kevin Keane and blasted a shot past David Clarke. Diarmuid Connolly has followed that up with a point and suddenly the Dubs are in front.

Dublin 2-1 Mayo 0-3: 17 mins – Another goal for Dublin, this time newcomer Jason Whelan thunders a left-foot shot to the net.

Dublin 2-3 Mayo 0-3: 18 mins – They may have started shakily but now Dublin are in control. Defenders Darren Daly and Jack McCaffrey have both got forward to post points on the board. Whelan’s goal previously arrived after Mayo coughed up the ball coming out of defence and it was Paul Flynn who fed Ballymun Kickhams clubman Whelan.

Dublin 2-4 Mayo 0-3: 21 mins – Good start to the game by Paul Mannion. He’s just been fouled and dusted himself down to convert the free that sends Dublin seven points clear. The Kilmacud Crokes man was then nearly in for another goal but David Clarke smothered his shot on this occasion.

Dublin 2-5 Mayo 0-4: 23 mins – A vital point for Mayo from Michael Conroy, who kicks a quality effort from the right wing. But Dublin hit back soon after through Bernard Brogan.

Brogan then spurns a chance from a placed ball to extend Dublin’s advantage after Paddy Andrews is hauled down.

Dublin 2-7 Mayo 0-5: 28 mins – Cillian O’Connor swept over a free for Mayo to briefly cut the deficit but Dublin have taken over again with Jason Whelan and Bernard Brogan on the mark from play.

Dublin 2-8 Mayo 0-5: 30 mins – Diarmuid Connolly gets in on the scoring act for Dublin with a  point. They are dominating this game, particularly in the middle third.

Dublin 2-9 Mayo 0-5: 32 mins – Dublin are gone 10 points clear now with Connolly again on target from play.

Dublin 2-9 Mayo 0-8: 34 mins – Mayo hit back with points from Cillian O’Connor from a free and Michael Conroy from play. There was a hint of a goal chance before Conroy pointed but Jason Gibbons has just fisted over for Mayo’s third successive point.

HALF-TIME: Dublin 2-9 Mayo 0-8: And that’s how it stands at the break with Dublin holding a seven point lead against Mayo.
