THE GAA HAVE confirmed as expected that Croke Park will host this year’s Allianz football league semi-finals and the hurling semi-finals will take place in Semple Stadium.
The last four pairings were revealed after yesterday’s final round of football league games and the weekend’s hurling quarter-final action.
The football semi-finals next Sunday will see Dublin, who are chasing four-in-a-row this year, in action against a Donegal team who last contested a league final in 2007.
The other semi-final sees Kerry, finalists most recently in 2009, against a Roscommon team that last featured in a decider in 1981.
The hurling semi-finals are pencilled in for Sunday 17 April with reigning champions Waterford up against Limerick, who will be bidding to contest a final for the first time since 2006.
The other last four tie sees Kilkenny, league champions from 2012 to 2014, in action against Clare, whose last final appearance was in 2005.
