If it stays like this, there’ll be three points beetween Villa in 15th and QPR in 18th.

We’re back under way and there’s already been drama as West Brom should have had a penalty against Villa and Robin van Persie went all too close for Arsenal.

We’ve barely had time to mention it amid the flurry of goals but WIgan have been utterly sensational today. Again, it looks like they should be aiming for the Champions League rather than Newcastle.

Well, well, well. Wolves show the right fight at the wrong time. Having been three goals behind twice in this game, Jarvis hits the equaliser.

Arsenal should have had a penalty as Van Persie was pushed in the box. meanwhile, Newcastle coming back into it at Wigan as Cisse – who has now squandered three different chances – hits the post.

Is that the most important save Shay Given will make this season (until the Euros obviously!). The ball might well have been behind from a West Brom effort but the goalkeeper somehow keeps it out.

Given ultimately saved what may end up being a crucial point for Villa. It’s ended 1-1 there. Everton meanwhile have won 4-0 against Fulham.

Wigan have done it too. They’re surely safe now! Another massive scalp and this in the most magnificent fashion! Four-nil against Champions League-chasing Newcastle.

And that’s it everywhere. Not just a hugely gripping and goal-laden day on the pitch but one with significant effect on the Premier League table. Arsenal may have drawn again, this time away to Stoke, but it’s actually strengthened their position. With two games left, their fate is in their own hands for third. Newcastle, meanwhile, have given Spurs and Chelsea a lifeline for fourth with their incredible 4-0 defeat – a result that puts Wigan in a very strong position. They’re level on points with Villa and three ahead of both QPR and Bolton, even if the latter two both have a game in hand.

This one is going to go right to the wire.
