Aston Villa captain Micah Richards in heated exchange with fans after FA Cup draw

Villa were held by League Two outfit Wycombe and another dismal performance proved too much for some fans.

ASTON VILLA CAPTAIN Micah Richards became embroiled in a heated exchange with irate supporters following his side’s 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup.

The England international defender confronted away supporters at Adams Park as the levels of discontent became more and more audible as the game progressed.

Remi Garde’s side have now gone 10 games without a victory and showed little sign of ending that run in the third round tie, despite Richard putting the visitors into a first-half lead.

As the players trudged down the tunnel following another dismal display, Villa fans let their feelings be known by questioning the team’s work ethic and passion.

Their beleaguered manager was subject to chants of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ in the closing stages and the players weren’t spared either with taunts of ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt.’

Richards stopped and engaged with supporters standing behind the bench.
