Munster will face the Maori All Blacks at Thomond Park later this year

The southern province say it’s an ‘exciting opportunity’ for the club.

MUNSTER WILL HOST the Maori All Blacks at Thomond Park on Friday 11 November, the province has announced.

The fixture will be part of the Maori All Blacks’ northern hemisphere tour which also sees them face the USA Eagles in Chicago the day before Ireland take on New Zealand at Solider Field Stadium.

It will be the third time Munster welcome an international team to the redeveloped Limerick venue, after the All Blacks and Australia visited in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the province and we welcome the chance to hopefully replicate previous marvellous occasions that we had when hosting the All Blacks and Australia,” Munster CEO, Garrett Fitzgerald, said.

“In what will be a first encounter for these sides we are really looking forward to the fixture and would like to thank the NZRU and IRFU for their efforts in bringing negotiations to a successful conclusion.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale tomorrow at 9am with prices starting from €15.
