THEY MAY HAVE traded verbal blows on Twitter in the past but there’s ‘no bad blood’ between Louis Smolka and Irish UFC flyweight Neil Seery.
Smolka was awarded a unanimous-decision victory over Seery tonight after a thrilling bout at UFC 189 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Afterwards, Seery took to Twitter to let fans know that there’s certainly no hostility between the pair.
“He was a lot quicker than I expected and he was excellent in the scrambles,” Seery said. “His tank of gas was better than mine. Just an all-round tough bloke. I’m happy for him and I hope he goes very far in the UFC.”
Smolka said: “We game-planned perfectly for him. I was stoked I got to show off my grappling — this is the first time I’ve been able to do so in the UFC — but if you watch my fights prior to coming to the UFC, you’ll see that I’m a very well versed grappler.”
