Ronda Rousey will star as herself in a movie based on her autobiography

Paramount have bought the rights to the UFC champ’s book.

HER ACTING CAREER only began last year but Ronda Rousey has already landed herself a leading role.

The UFC women’s bantamweight champion is to star as herself in a movie based on her autobiography — My Fight/Your Fight — which was released earlier this year.

Rousey, who will also be one of the movie’s producers, took to Instagram to confirm a report from Variety which claimed that the rights to the book have been bought by Paramount.

The autobiography charts Rousey’s journey through childhood to becoming an Olympic judo bronze medallist in 2008, before her ascent to the top in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The 28-year-old Californian cemented her status as the most dominant fighter in mixed martial arts by taking just 34 seconds to knock out Bethe Corriea on Saturday night.

Variety reports that no timeline has been set for the production and release of the movie, which will be adapted by Mark Bomback (The Wolverine, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and co-produced by Mary Parent (Pacific Rim, Godzilla).

Rousey said: “Can’t wait to work with Paramount, the talented Mark Bomback and Mary Parent! When it’s time to make this, I promise to make it special.”

The UFC champion has already featured in The Expendables 3, Furious 7 and the Entourage movie. She’s also due to star in Mile 22 and the Athena Project.
