Irish-qualified striker Scott Hogan seals €10.5 million Aston Villa switch

West Ham were the long-term favourites for the player’s signature, but the Hammers pulled out of the race today.

SCOTT HOGAN HAS joined Aston Villa in a late Deadline Day deal, the club have confirmed.

Hogan had long been expected to leave Brentford after a prolific spell in the Championship.

West Ham were the long-term favourites for the player’s signature, but the Hammers pulled out of the race for the 24-year-old, allowing Villa to swoop in instead.

The striker, who qualifies to play for Ireland but has yet to declare his allegiance to the Boys in Green, signs on an initial reported €10.5 million fee, though the transfer could eventually rise to €14 million.
