A definitive ranking of the top 10 tries in this year's 6 Nations

No. They’re not all from Super Saturday.

SATURDAY WAS ANOTHER nail-biting finish to the Championship, with 27 tries to boost the tournament total this year to 62.

However, not all the best scores were grounded on Super Saturday. There were moments of beauty from the opening night through the tense middle order fixtures right through to the epic climax.

Here, we’ve whittled away 52 tries to come up with the top 10.

10. Tommy O’Donnell v Italy

A first glimpse of the Italian defence tiring, but that hand-off and sprint late on from a player who hadn’t expected to start deserves serious credit.

9.  Jonathan Joseph v Wales

Another try where we could dwell on the poor tackles, but Joseph announced England’s tournament intentions by wriggling out of contact and darting in on opening night.

8. George Ford v France

The best 10 in the Championship follows his half-back partner’s dart through the blue line to put England a step closer to Ireland’s points tally.

7. Rhys Webb v England

A close range score, but the handiwork from Taulupe Faletau makes this score straightforward for the Welsh nine.

6. Leonardo Sarto v Wales

A score as beautiful as it was vital for Ireland’s title hopes. The Zebre winger refused the option to pass in-field, instead backing his hip swivel to outfox Dan Biggar.

5. Sam Warburton v Italy

With Italy ragged 13 minutes from time, Wales were running everything from deep, but it took two tidy offloads and a thunderous sprint from the captain to round this off.

4. Dougie Fife v France

It’s disappointing that Scotland finish pointless, because they made brilliant attacking contributions to the Championship. Like these moves to stretch France in Paris.

3. Robbie Henshaw v England

There wasn’t a whole lot for Conor Murray to aim for, but with advantage coming he put the ball on a five cent piece and backed Robbie Henshaw to out-jump anybody. The grounding was excellent too.

2. Ben Youngs v France

80 seconds in to England v France and a turnover set the tone.

1. Vincent Debaty v England

We still have no idea how big Vin kept up with Clermont wing Noa Nakaitaci, but he popped up on his shoulder to seal an astounding coast-to-coast score from Les Bleus.
