Bad news for Stephen Ireland as he suffers broken leg at training with Stoke

STEPHEN IRELAND HAS suffered a major setback after breaking his leg in training this morning with Stoke City.

The club confirmed the news this evening on their official website.

The 29 year-old, who won six caps for the Ireland national team, came on as a substitute for Stoke in their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace last Saturday.

The statement on the club’s website reads:

“Stoke City can confirm that Stephen Ireland has sustained a broken leg in training this morning and is now facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

“The club wishes Stephen a speedy recovery and will offer him all the support he requires as he undergoes his rehabilitation.”
