Gatland makes three changes for World Cup quarter-final against the Springboks

Dan Lydiate, Gethin Jenkins and Tyler Morgan all start.

WALES HEAD COACH Warren Gatland has brought back in Dan Lydiate, Gethin Jenkins and Tyler Morgan to his starting XV ahead of Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final against South Africa.

20-year-old Morgan will wear the number 13 shirt against the ‘Boks this Saturday, in the only change to the backline from last week’s 15-6 defeat to Australia at Twickenham.

With Liam Williams ruled out for the rest of the tournament, Morgan comes into the side with George North swapping outside to his usual position on the wing.

Morgan’s inclusion means that James Hook must settle for a place on the bench.

Gatland has also made two changes to his pack. The experience of Gethin Jenkins is welcomed back into the front row, he starts alongside Scott Baldwin and Samson Lee as they look to shore up the scrum after its disappointing performances against Australia last week.

The second row is unchanged with Alun Wyn Jones and Luke Charteris packing down, while Dan Lydiate is brought back in at flanker in place of Justin Tipuric.
