Westmeath set up Laois encounter after convincing win over Meath

The sides met in Trim tonight.

WESTMEATH WILL FACE Laois in the Leinster U21 hurling championship next Wednesday after a comfortable 2-20 to 0-12 victory against Meath in Trim tonight.

Two goals in the opening four minutes set Westmeath on their way, and the visitors were comfortably ahead at half-time, as they established a 2-10 to 0-6 lead.

Westmeath continued their dominance in the second half, with their opponents rarely looking capable of getting back in the game, as the visitors earned a comprehensive 14-point victory ultimately.
