THIS IS FANTASTIC! As support pours in for Loughmore-Castleiney clubman Eddie Connolly’s fight against cancer, Australia scrum-half Will Genia is lending a hand.
This brilliant video was posted by Eoin Ryan on the Score 4 Eddie Facebook page.
Former Kilkenny hurler John Mulhall has also weighed in with a classic video, which you can view here.
Former Ireland and Munster rugby player Denis Leamy is Connolly’s first cousin and one of the main driving forces behind a special ‘Night at the Dogs’ in Thurles Greyhound Stadium next Friday, 18 September.
Already, a huge amount of money has been raised via the Score 4 Eddie page, where participants are encouraged to record a video of themselves scoring a goal in support of Eddie.
A €4 donation (split between the Eddie Connolly Trust & St. Luke’s hospital) can be made by uploading your video to the page, texting MATCH to 50300 and then nominating four of your friends to do likewise.
Connolly’s Loughmore-Castleiney colleague Noel McGrath, who underwent surgery for testicular cancer earlier this year, oversaw the video tribute from the club:
Connolly has represented his club and county at all grades of hurling and football, and captained Tipperary to the All-Ireland intermediate hurling title in 2012.
In late 2013, he was diagnosed with brain cancer and since then, he has been bravely and courageously battling to overcome his illness.
