'I'm just a little confused' - Americans get their first taste of hurling

A group of Americans get taught how to hurl.

THERE ARE PROBABLY toddlers in Kilkenny who are better at hurling than me, so I won’t be casting the first stone.

An Irish You Tuber by the title of Play Hurling was in Anaheim for VidCon recently, and as most Irish people do when they’re going abroad, he packed his hurl and a few sliotars so he could go for a puck around and bemuse locals.

David Woga, who creates the videos, decided he’s try out a social experiment at the conference, by roping in some fellow You Tubers to test out their natural talent.

When it came to the ground hurling and rising the sliotar, they showed some level of coordination, but unfortunately it all went downhill from there once they had to strike it in the air.

The thoughts of those taking part ranged from comparisons with Quidditch and baseball, while one was just completely confused by what they had just been part of.

One of the girls did say she’d love to see how an actual game of hurling takes shape after being introduced to the basic skills.

So innocent.
