NEWMARKET-ON-FERGUS set up a county final date with Sixmilebridge as they won today’s semi-final in Clarecastle by five points.
Newmarket-on-Fergus were level at 0-6 to 1-3 at the interval with Clare senior footballer Gary Brennan scoring Ballyea’s goal.
Colin Ryan was the marksman in chief for a Newmarket-on-Fergus team that eventually ground a semi-final success.

The reigning champions will now bid to retain their title next weekend against Sixmilebridge with the winners travelling to Cork for a Munster semi-final date against Midleton.

CRATLOE will contest the Clare senior football final for the first time in 126 years after they claimed a five-point win in today’s semi-final against Eire Og Ennis.
Eire Og Ennis enjoyed a 0-4 to 0-2 lead after 20 minutes with Liam Corry and Stephen Hickey on the mark for them. But Cratloe fought back with Cathal McInerney firing home a goal from a penalty spot after Sean Collins was fouled and then Podge Collins pointed to put Cratloe in front by 1-3 to 0-5 at the interval.
The critical score arrived at the third-quarter mark when Cathal McInerney fired home his second goal of the game to put them into a 2-4 to 0-7 lead. Points by Sean Collins and Conor McGrath stretched Cratloe’s lead to 2-6 to 0-7.
The teams then traded points before Cratloe held on to reach their first final since the club’s foundation year in 1887.
