FERMANAGH MANAGER KIERAN Donnelly has stepped down after four seasons in charge.
The news, which was first reported by The 42, was confirmed by Fermanagh GAA in a statement this morning. Donnelly met with county officers at the weekend and informed them of his decision.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as manager of the Fermanagh senior football team,” said Donnelly. “I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to my backroom team for their dedication and professionalism throughout my tenure.
“The players have shown tremendous growth and development, and I am proud of the progress the squad has made during this period. I would like to wish the players, management, and supporters of Fermanagh GAA every success in the years ahead.”

Donnelly guided the Erne county to the Tailteann Cup semi-final final this year, where they were beaten by eventual champions Kildare 1-13 to 0-9.
They finished fourth in Division Three of the National Football League, having won it in 2023 and spent one season in the second tier thereafter. They bowed out of this year’s Ulster championship after a 2-19 to 0-23 quarter-final defeat to Down, before topping their Tailteann Cup group and beating Sligo in the last eight.
The statement added: “Fermanagh GAA would like to sincerely thank Kieran and his entire backroom team for their dedication and commitment over the last four years. Transitioning from Covid and the new playing rules has not been an easy task.
“While silverware may have eluded, Kieran brought a great culture and positive environment to the senior side.
“We wish Kieran, his family and all the backroom team every success in the future.”
Donnelly was appointed manager in September 2021, succeeding Ryan McMenamin in the role.
The former Fermanagh footballer previously spent two years working with the Erne county as part of Peter Canavan’s backroom team in 2012-13. He also coached Errigal Ciarán under the Tyrone legend.
Donnelly was further involved in the club circuit across Ulster, managing Scotstown in Monaghan before working with Cavan Gaels.
Fermanagh GAA will immediately begin the process to find his successor.
