AS IT HAPPENED

As it happened: Clare v Limerick, Mayo v London, Tipperary v Waterford - Sunday GAA match tracker

Cavan against Armagh was also on the agenda today.

Afternoon all. As the championship slowly chugs into gear, we’re treated to four quarter-finals across three provinces and played in two countries. We’ll be following Limerick-Clare and Waterford-Tipperary in the Munster SFC, London-Mayo in the Connacht SFC, and Cavan-Armagh in the Ulster SFC.

Clare 0-0 Limerick 0-0

14. David Tubridy (Doonbeg)
15. Pat Burke (Kilmacud Crokes)

11 mins – Clare 0-0 Limerick 0-2: Ian Ryan and Cian Sheehan both point in quick succession to put Limerick in front. The sides have kicked nine wides between them.

11 mins – Clare 0-1 Limerick 0-2: Clare seem dangerous when they attack. They broke through 13 Limerick defenders to score a point through Cathal O’Connor.

13 mins – Clare 0-1 Limerick 0-3: Ian Ryan kicks Limerick’s third score of the day. The quality out there is pretty poor. Basic skills are not being executed at present. Both teams need to settle down.

Clare have kicked just one point inside the opening 17 minutes.

We’re just under 40 minutes away from throw-in at Ruislip for London-Mayo. Here’s a quick check on how both teams will start:

12. Jason Doherty (Burrishoole)

13. Evan Regan (Ballina Stephenites)
14. Cillian O’Connor (Ballintubber)
15. Conor O’Shea (Breaffy)

When they turn Limerick over, Clare are not quick enough on the counter-attack. That transition we see so often with Tyrone is not easy to replicate.

11 mins – Clare 0-2 Limerick 0-3: Sean Collins brings Clare to within to one. You sense that Clare are slowly getting to grips with Limerick all over the field. The game has gone short of any sort of quality in the last 15 minutes. Clare’s Cian O’Dea has been a rare bright spark out there.

Podge Collins is limbering up on the sideline and looks like he’ll be introduced soon.

Every one of Limerick’s kickouts have gone inside their own 21 metre line so far.

Podge Collins is in for Cathal O’Connor, who suffered a hand injury after colliding with the wall surrounding the field.

35 mins – Clare 0-4 Limerick 0-4: Clare will be the happier of sides at half-time. David Tubridy levels the game up as we head into injury time.

35 mins – Clare 0-5 Limerick 0-4: Podge Collins makes an impact on his introduction by giving Clare the lead.

HALF-TIME: Clare 0-5 Limerick 0-4

Due to extra-time in the JFC curtain-raiser, the senior clash of Tipperary and Waterford will throw-in at 3:45pm.

One late change on that Mayo team to tell you about. Stephen Coen comes in for Tom Parsons.

Seanie Buckley and Cathal O'Connor

36 mins – Clare 0-5 Limerick 0-4: We’re back underway. No changes for either side at half-time.

Clare look nothing like the team we saw against Kildare in the league final. They look tired here.

37 mins – CHANCE! Keelan Sexton fires over from close-range with the goal at his mercy.

37 mins – Clare 0-7 Limerick 0-4: Clare are on a roll and they’ve scored the last four points. Limerick are struggling to get any momentum.

46 mins – Clare 0-8 Limerick 0-6: Ian Ryan slots over a free to bring Limerick back to within two. Limerick are yet to score from play although they are coming back into this game.

47 mins – Clare 0-8 Limerick 0-7: Danny Neville curls over a stunning score from a free. Clare’s Gary Brennan appears to be struggling with an injury.

51 mins – Clare 0-8 Limerick 0-7: Gordon Kelly has been black-carded for Clare after a cynical foul.

7 mins – London 0-1 Mayo 0-0: Cillian O’Conor has been black-carded after 6 minutes in Ruislip. He’s replaced by Conor Loftus.

16 mins – London 0-1 Mayo 0-0: Rob Hennelly gets Mayo off the mark with a 45.

55 mins – Clare 0-10 Limerick 0-7: Limerick look reluctant to give the ball into their inside forwards. Gary Brennan lands over a huge score to give the Banner a three point lead. Big moment for Clare.

That black-card will be a serious hit to Cillian O’Connor’s hopes of finishing as the championship’s top-scorer for a fourth straight year.

20 mins – London 0-1 Mayo 0-4: Evan Regan’s second and third points of the afternoon sees Mayo into a three-point lead. Better this from the Connacht champions.

60 mins – Clare 0-13 Limerick 0-10: Keelan Sexton was at the centre of an attack that culminated with Jamie Malone slotting over. Ian Ryan’s third point from play arrives as Limerick start to improve in attack.

62 mins – Clare 0-14 Limerick 0-10: A touch of class from Podge Collins who raises the white flag after taking the pass from his brother Sean. Limerick win a soft free and Ian Ryan has a chance to reduce the gap to three again.

25 mins – London 0-2 Mayo 1-6: Mayo are starting to roll in Ruislip. Conor Loftus punched a ball into the net to put them in command. Loftus and Regan add a point apiece.

Three of Clare’s last five scores have come from turnovers.

30 mins – London 0-2 Mayo 2-6: Jason Doherty finds the net after Mayo turned over the London defence. There will be no repeat of that close call in James Horan’s first game a few years ago.

The parade at Breffni Park goes off without a hitch. Cavan-Armagh will be underway momentarily.

70 mins – Clare 0-14 Limerick 0-12: Danny Neville’s second score for Limerick brings them within two. We’re into five minutes of added time.

2 mins – Cavan 0-1 Armagh 0-0: Seanie Johnston draws a roar from the crowd as his 70th point in championship football gives Cavan an early lead.

35 mins – London 0-5 Mayo 2-7

HALF-TIME: London 0-5 Mayo 2-8

FULL-TIME: Clare 0-16 Limerick 0-13

Clare play Kerry in the Munster SFC semi-final on 12 June.

11 mins – Cavan 0-3 Armagh 0-3: Michael Argue becomes the second Cavan player to pick up a yellow. Johnston strokes over a free from outside the 45 to level the game.

14 mins – Cavan 0-4 Armagh 0-3: Armagh were defensively opened up for the fist time in the game as Cavan broke quickly. Gearoid McKiernan’s shot was blocked by Ciaran McKeever. Cavan goalkeeper Raymond Galligan lands over the 45.

14 mins – Cavan 0-6 Armagh 0-3: It’s the Seanie Johnston show so far. He kicks a magnificent show off his left foot. McKiernan tags on another point as Cavan stretch clear.

Cavan have won five kickouts in a row.

19 mins – Cavan 0-6 Armagh 0-4: Ethan Rafferty slots over Armagh’s first score in nine minutes. That’s his third of the afternoon.

7 mins – Waterford 0-3 Tipperary 0-0: Paul Whyte has put Waterford three in front in a very impressive start by the Deise.

23 mins – Cavan 0-7 Armagh 0-4:
Cavan are completely dominating around the middle third. A fantastic score by McKiernan puts them three in front.

24 mins – GOAL! Dara McVeety calmly slots the ball into the net after Cavan scythe through Armagh.

28 mins – Cavan 1-8 Armagh 0-4: Cavan are finding their groove. Armagh have rolled on two substitutes:

32 mins – Cavan 1-9 Armagh 0-4: Seanie Johnston has scored five points in this first-half. Armagh’s attack is looking pretty aimless. Cavan have them where they want. They’ll sit deep, absorb the Armagh pressure and hit them at pace on the counter.

20 mins – Waterford 0-3 Tipperary 0-3: Evan Comerford makes a couple of great saves to deny Paul Whyte a goal. We’re level after a subdued 20 minutes.

36 mins – London 0-7 Mayo 2-10: Mark Gotche’s converts a free as London look to stay in touch as the second-half gets underway.

Armagh’s Stefan Campbell just missed a free from here:

HALF-TIME – Cavan 1-9 Armagh 0-6: Cavan have been by far the better team so far. Armagh are staying out on the field to allow Cavan go into the dressing rooms first. Gearoid McKiernan, Cian Mackey and Seanie Johnston have all been outstanding. Armagh’s haven’t really functioned so far and they’ve struggled to get Stefan Campbell involved.

26 mins – Waterford 0-5 Tipperary 0-5

53 mins – London 0-8 Mayo 2-11: Andy Moran kicks Mayo’s latest point. They’ve been solid in Ruislip without ever threatening to cut loose.

30 mins – Waterford 0-5 Tipperary 0-6: Hannigan scores again to put Tipperary into the lead for the first time.

59 mins – London 0-8 Mayo 2-15: Alan Dillon is introduced for Jason Gibbins. Stephen Coen and Kevin McLoughlin add to Mayo’s lead.

35 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-8: Colm O’ Shaughnessy puts Tipperary two in front. They’ve struggled to break down Waterford’s blanket for long spells.

HALF-TIME - Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-8

70 mins – London 0-9 Mayo 2-15: Mayo are looking comfortable as they lead by 12.

40 mins – Cavan 1-11 Armagh 0-9: Cavan have resumed their good play after the interval. Mackey sets up David Givney’s point for Cavan.

FULL-TIME: London 0-9 Mayo 2-16

It’s off to the qualifiers for London as they are dumped out of the Connacht SFC by holders Mayo. Stephen Rochford’s men take on Galway in the semi-final.

43 mins – PENALTY FOR CAVAN! Cian Mackey is fouled as he winds up for a shot on goal.

44 mins – GOAL! He played soccer with Burnley in his younger days and Martin Reilly slotted the spot-kick past Paul Courtney.

45 mins – Cavan 2-11 Armagh 0-10:

48 mins – Cavan 2-11 Armagh 0-11: Campbell converts a free from a difficult position to make it a six point game.

52 mins – Cavan 2-11 Armagh 0-12: Armagh are doing well to keep in touch with Cavan here. A lot of their play has become very ropey. Their attack has been aimless at times.

38 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-9: A nice free from Kevin O’Halloran puts Tipperary three clear.

54 mins – Cavan 2-12 Armagh 0-12: Eugene Keating departs the field after receiving a black card. Jack Brady makes an instant impact after he’s introduced in place of Keating and pops over the bar.

42 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-11: Peter Acheson’s score gives Tipperary a four point lead. Moments later O’Halloran adds a free. Tipperary are beginning to open up now.

56 mins – PENALTY! Stefan Campbell goes down under a challenge in the penalty area. Armagh need to take this chance.

58 mins – SAVED! Raymond Galligan brilliantly stops Campbell’s low shot. Cavan fans are estatic. On the counter-attack Johnston provides a sucker punch by scoring from Cavan’s quick breakaway.

60 mins – Cavan 2-14 Armagh 0-12: Jack Brady is putting his hand up to get into this team. He strikes one over off the left as Cavan move eight in front.

Tommy Prendergast is tackled by Bill Maher Cathal Noonan / INPHO Cathal Noonan / INPHO / INPHO

Michael Curry tackles Josh Keane

47 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 1-12: Michael Quinlivan punches the ball off the crossbar and it bounces into the net off the back of Maurice O’Gorman. Quinlivan clips over a 45 a couple of minutes later. Tipperary lead by nine.

67 mins – Cavan 2-14 Armagh 0-13: Stefan Campbell is being doubled-marked in the Armagh full-forward line. Seanie Johnston receives a loud cheer as he departs the field. Gerard Smith replaces him. Johnston scored seven points in an impressive display.

54 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 1-13: Acheson kicks another score for the visitors. This one is as good as over as a contest.

We’ll see four minutes of additional time in Breffni Park.

72 mins – Cavan 2-16 Armagh 0-14: Dara McVeety caps off a big win with a glorious score off the outside of his boot. Fine kick, but you must question the Armagh defending there.

59 mins – Waterford 1-6 Tipperary 1-14: A Waterford goal by Paul Whyte cuts the gap to eight points with 11 left to play.

FULL-TIME: Cavan 2-16 Armagh 0-14

63 mins – Waterford 1-7 Tipperary 1-14: Tommy Prendergast scores a point for Waterford but it is goals they need now.

FULL-TIME: Waterford 1-7 Tipperary 1-15
