DUBLIN’S ALL-IRELAND-winning captain Bryan Cullen will join the Leinster set-up, a spokesperson for Dublin GAA confirmed to TheScore.ie this morning.
A report in the Irish Independent by Ruaidhri O’Connor today indicated Cullen was set to begin working for the province, only days after lifting the All-Ireland trophy, becoming the first Dublin captain to do so in 16 years.
The player will become part of the province’s fitness programme, which oversees the development of their young players, working alongside academy manager Colin McEntee and ex-Ireland international Girvan Dempsey.
Cullen – who is currently undertaking a PhD in exercise physiology at DCU – had applied for the job, which required an IRFU conditioning certificate, strength and fitness coaching skills.
Cullen has been a busy man of late.
In addition to winning the All-Ireland and partaking in the team’s high-profile homecoming, he will also be present at Parnell Park this evening, as Dublin play county champions Kilmacud Crokes in a charity game in aid of Crosscare and Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
