Mourinho and Ronaldo sent off, Atletico Madrid party like it's 1999

Real Madrid lost to their city rivals for the first time in 14 years. And to make matters worse, it was in the Copa del Rey final.

ATLETICO MADRID WON their 10th Copa del Rey as goals from Diego Costa and Miranda saw them beat Real Madrid 2-1 in extra-time as both Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo were sent-off.

Real had got off to the perfect start as Ronaldo headed them in front after just 13 minutes, but Costa’s drive ensured Atletico went into the break level.

Mourinho was sent from the sidelines in the second-half as Real’s frustration grew after hitting the woodwork three times.

Miranda than headed Atletico into the lead eight minutes into extra time.

There was even more drama to come as Ronaldo was then shown a straight red card for reacting angrily to a late challenge from Gabi with six minutes of extra time remaining.

It is the first time Atletico have defeated Real since 1999.
