THE POST-WORLD Cup period usually sees a mass exodus from the southern hemisphere nations and there has already been rumours that some particularly high profile players will seek big money moves.
Reports in France and at ESPN say that Racing Metro are hoping to replace Leinster-bound out-half Johnny Sexton with Dan Carter.
The move makes sense for Carter because he will be 33 after the World Cup and given the form of Aaron Cruden and Beauden Barrett, he is unlikely to feature at international level.
It will interesting over the next few weeks to see who else makes the move. Any chance that Richie McCaw leaves too? It would be great to see the groundhog in the Champions Cup before he retires.
It wouldn’t be Dan Carter’s first time in France – he also had a brief injury-hit spell at Perpignan in 2008/09.
Hopefully Carter’s magic is still evident post-World Cup.
