Wilson leaves Liverpool to return to SPL

Scottish international defender Danny Wilson joins Hearts on a three-year deal.

SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL DEFENDER Danny Wilson has left Liverpool to join Hearts on a three-year contract, the SPL club confirmed today.

Wilson, 21, spent the last four months of the season on loan at Hearts and will return to Tynecastle on a permanent basis when his Liverpool contract expires.

“It didn’t take me long to decide about committing myself to Hearts once the club made it known they were keen to keep me,” Wilson told the club website.

“I just want to play football and I firmly believe that staying at Tynecastle will benefit my career.

“I really enjoyed my time on loan here and am very pleased the move has been made permanent. This is a great club with great supporters and I’m looking forward to helping bring more success to Hearts.”

Wilson began his career with Rangers, before leaving for Liverpool in 2010 in a transfer worth £2 million.

“I’m delighted that Danny has decided to sign for the club permanently,” said Hearts manager Gary Locke.

“He has a wealth of experience despite only being 21 years old and has already shown how talented he is in his loan spell here.”
