MUNSTER RUGBY UNDER 20′s suffered a narrow defeat last night at the hands of Sale in Manchester.
However, the stand-out stat from the game is the province’s sole try-scorer: one Darren Sweetnam.
The Cork hurler has been in and around the underage set-up with Munster for some time now and his name is beginning to come to the fore.

Fifteen days on from the young midfielder scoring with the small ball for the Rebels in Croke Park, Sweetnam the fullback touched the oval ball down to register five points against Sale.
Having trailed their hosts 6-3 at half time, Sweetnam’s score allowed Tom Kiersey the opportunity to build on Brian Haugh’s earlier penalties to level matters at 13-13. He did not falter.
However, Sale would take the win after Munster were penalised at the death. Nathan Fowles, the scrumhalf who also provided Sale’s only try, would knock over the winning score.
