Pound-for-pound champion Mighty Mouse out to make history at UFC 215

Amanda Nunes will also defend her bantamweight belt against Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event.

TWO TITLE FIGHTS have been announced for UFC 215, which will take place in Edmonton, Canada.

On 9 September, flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (26-2-1) will defend his belt against Ray Borg (11-2). Mighty Mouse, the promotion’s pound-for-pound fighter, has held the flyweight title since its inception back in 2012.

The 30-year-old American is currently level with Anderson Silva for most consecutive title defences and victory against Borg would hand him a record 11th.

In the night’s co-main event, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes (14-4) faces Valentina Shevchenko (14-2) in a rescheduled match-up.

Brazilian Nunes submitted Miesha Tate in the first round to become champion for the first time at UFC 200, before making light work of all-time great Ronda Rousey on her comeback in December 2016 — winning by TKO inside 48 seconds.
