Dublin confident Gilroy will remain as manager

Andy Kettle has indicated he will do everything in his power to ensure the manager stays with the team.

PAT GILROY HAS brought Dublin a long way since taking over the team in 2009 and the board are confident he won’t be leaving anytime soon.

Gilroy has guided Dublin to their first All-Ireland in 16 years, rejuvenating a team who have been accused of ‘choking’ on several occasions in the past.

And chairman Andy Kettle told reporters that Gilroy was unlikely to be leaving his post anytime soon:

“You’d be a brave man that would say anything against him continuing. He has a young family, he has to sit back and think about it but I am sure that he can see more All-Irelands in this squad and maybe he doesn’t want to leave until he gets them.”

In the region of 35,000 fans were reported to have turned out last night, to celebrate Dublin’s historic defeat of Kerry.
