DUNDALK’S EUROPEAN HANGOVER continued at the Carlisle Grounds as in-form Bray Wanderers came from behind to stun the champions.

Birthday boy Daryl Horgan seemingly set Dundalk on their way to victory in the 12th minute, but he would be sent off late on. The Seagulls levelled on 38 minutes through Mark Salmon and pinched all three points 10 minutes from time as Karl Moore curled home from a free.

The Lilywhites were seeking revenge following Friday’s loss to Galway and all appeared to be going according to plan when Horgan buried the rebound, after Bray goalkeeper Peter Cherrie had parried a David McMillan strike.

Wanderers had the woodwork to thank for keeping them alive six minutes later, as Horgan smacked the post having been fed by McMillan.

Paddy Barrett then saw a header cleared off the line by Hughie Douglas and the home side were on the ropes but they would sneak level before the break.

Kevin Lynch’s free was met by Douglas and fell to Salmon, who managed to tuck it away in a crowded penalty area.

Dylan Connolly was a livewire yet again for Harry Kenny’s side and terrorised Dundalk throughout the match. It was Connolly who was fouled in the 79th minute; paving the way for Moore to bend home a beauty that Dundalk stopper Gary Rogers had no hope of saving.

Connolly was then brought down by a desperate Horgan in injury time, which earned him a straight red card on a memorable night by the seaside.
