FABIO FOGNINI CRASHED out of the Rome Masters on Thursday evening, but his foul-mouthed parting shot could land him in hot water.
The Italian shook hands with Alexander Zverev after losing in straight sets to the seeded German, 6-3 6-3.
But as he shook hands with chair umpire Mohamed Lahyani, he told him: “You’re fucking arrogant.”
Fognini, who beat Andy Murray this week, had earlier asked Lahyani to check a mark in the clay before providing a ruling.
As he lost his temper in the second set, he smashed his racket off the ground, kicked a linesman’s chair, and called Lahyani a “clown” and “loudmouth.”
