SEVEN-TIME CHAMPION ROGER Federer has been told by Wimbledon officials that his orange-soled tennis shoes contravene the tournament’s strict all-white dress code.
Federer wore the shoes in his opening round win over Vicor Hanescu on Monday but has now been told to bin them when he returns to Centre Court later today to face Sergiy Stakhovsky.
Despite being a member of the All England Club, defending champion Federer is still expected to abide by the rules.
