Every weekday morning, brings you all the sporting tid-bits you can handle before that first cup of coffee. Shall we?

Mayo, yes Mayo, defied the odds at Croke Park yesterday by defeating reigning All Ireland champions Dublin and taking their place in the final alongside their neighbours to the north, Donegal.

The Connacht Champions delivered a stellar display in the first 50 minutes of the game to take a commanding 10 point lead.

Dublin, as good champions do, came roaring back in the final stage of the game and would have drawn level were it not for a stunning save from David Clarke when Bernard Brogan was through one-on-one.

2. #LONDON2012 It was yet another day of medals for Team Ireland at the Paralympics. Helen Kearney, Catherine Walsh and Fran Meehan all did their country proud.

Walsh and Meehan took silver at the velodrome, while Kearney was central to the plundering of two more medals.

3.#OSCAR OUSTED Oscar Pistorius, for many, the face of this year’s Paralympic Games lost his 200m crown last night finishing second to Brazil’s Alan Oliveira by a margin of 0.07. But he hasn’t taken the result lying down.

4. #GROS MISCONDUCT The first corner of the Belgian Grand Prix resulted in carnage yesterday. Romain Grosjean has been given a one-race ban for his part in the pile-up along with a €50,ooo fine. Get the full nitty-gritty here.

5.#LA VUELTA Stage 15 of the Spanish tour brought a new winner, but no change in the overall standings. Antonio Piedra took the tape on the mountainous stage, leading the field home from 10km.

His fellow Spaniard Joaquim Rodriguez still looks odds on to take the title, he retained his 22 second advantage over Alberto Contador.
